Alister Gray
I’m an RICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor with an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution based in the South of England. I have specialist knowledge and experience of Basement, Groundworks and RCC Frame works in London and the surrounding area, and also have experience working for Tier 1 contractors and developers.
I can analyse complex construction scenarios at both project and wider organisational levels to reach succinct conclusions, whether that be the identification and definition of an operational/commercial problem or the opportunity to increase efficiency in a head-office process. I can then develop and implement solutions and I am confident in liaising with all individuals and parties involved to co-ordinate a team effort. I thrive on maintaining an overall awareness of the businesses I work for and the projects I’m involved with in order to be able to problem solve efficiently and effectively, and to prevent problems from arising through the adoption of robust process governance.
My masters thesis focused on the restructuring of traditional contractual relationships and the adoption of collaborative procurement processes in order to unlock improved contributions from the supply chain. This further developed my knowledge of the PPC2000/NEC4/JCT contracts, and combined with my experience at various levels of the supply chain, gives me a unique perspective on how tendering processes and contracting relationships can be structured to generate improved value.
